My work-related Your Tech Weblog technology blog has garnered a Page One award in the “best newsroom blog” category from the Minnesota chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.

I will find out next month whether I placed first, second or third in the category … but I am beyond thrilled regardless.

I have been doing my tech blog for a long time, but the MNSPJ’s newsroom-blog category is a relatively new one, and this news-industry recognition means a lot.

Bonus: I can now call Your Tech an “award-winning blog.”

Update: I’m pleased and not at all surprised that Minnesota Public Radio‘s NewsCut blog by Bob Collins is one of my competitors for the top spot in the newsroom-blog category. Bob’s blog is a local institution. Well deserved, sir.

(We don’t know who the third competitor is.)
